3) Do you have References?

4) Are you an EPA Lead Certified Company?
Yes – and all our painters have been trained in the correct procedures.
5) How do you Protect my Belongings when you are working inside my home?
All furniture and flooring is covered using plastic and drop cloths. Our painters wear boot covers when working inside your home.
6) How do you Protect my Plants, etc. when you are working outside my home?
All nearby plants / shrubs are covered with plastic. When pressure cleaning we use a cleaner called TSP which is not harmful to animals or plants.
7) How do I Choose my Colors?
If you are comfortable making the decision by yourself, you can stop by your local Sherwin Williams store and choose your colors. We just need the Sherwin Color Codes of your choices. If you would like help choosing your colors, give us a call and we will set up a free color consultation.
8) Can you Match my existing Colors?
Yes- we can match the new paint very closely and we can show you a sample on the wall
9) Do you Provide Touch-Up Paint?
We will leave any remaining paint with our customer for touch-up purposes.
10) Do you Require a Deposit?
Yes- we ask for a 35% deposit to schedule your painting job and this is fairly standard for contractors.
11) How Long will my Job Take?
This all depends on the size of the job. When your job is scheduled we will let you know how long we think the job will take.
12) When will my Job Start?
Our schedule varies at different times of the year. Typically we run 2 to 3 weeks out. If you have a specific deadline, please let us know and we will do our best to accomodate you.
13) Is the Start Date that you give me likely to Change?
There are occasions where we may be delayed due to weather, or due to customers adding additional work once we arrive at their homes/ businesses, however, we will keep you informed if it looks like we may be behind in our schedule.
14) Why are Drywall Repairs or Carpentry Repairs charged at time plus material and not a fixed price?
It is very hard to estimate drywall and carpentry repairs because until we start removing the damaged areas we do not know how far the damage goes and for that reason the repairs are based on time plus material.
15) Do you Offer a Warranty?
Yes- on interior work we provide a two year warranty and on exterior work we provide a four year warranty (There may be some exceptions depending on the type of project).
16) What is included as part of the Preparation Work?
For interior painting, the prep work includes covering all furniture with plastic, placing drop cloths on the floors and putting blue tape on baseboards and surrounding areas. We patch or seal any stained areas and hand sand where required. For exterior painting the preparation includes pressure washing, caulking, scraping, sanding and priming of all bare wood.
17) What is the Difference between Paint Finishes?
A Flat finish is usually for ceilings, an Eggshell is usually for high-traffic areas and a Satin finish is glossier and usually used for wood trim. We use only Premium Sherwin Williams paints.
18) What is the process for Deck Restoration?
Pressure Wash, Stain and Seal. We offer a 5 year limited warranty on stain.
19) What is the process for Refinishing a Front Door?
Process depends on condition of door and is determined at estimate. We Safe strip, Stain and Seal door.
20) Do we Sub-Contract out painting?
We have used all the same painters for years.
